March 2019 Blog Small Bathroom Renovation

Posted On: March 08, 2019

Renovating/remodeling a small bath to look larger and open has a few tricks you can incorporate.  Light is essential in that the more natural light you can reflect the larger the room will appear. For instance, if you have a window that is higher up, you should not use window treatments. The natural light from that window is a huge benefit.

Mirrors will also reflect natural light and give the appearance of a larger space. If window treatments are necessary, go with something sheer or that allows natural light to filter in.

In addition, using clear shower doors instead of curtains gives the illusion of a larger space.

A floating vanity, wall hung or pedestal sink will use much less space adding to the illusion of a more open area.

Along with the use of mirrors and natural lighting, decluttering your space will also help to make the bath appear more spacious. And finally using as much white in the area as possible, whether on the floors, vanity surface, tiles, paint, etc., and using a very small accent color maybe in a towel, will help the spatial allusion along.
